asian != chinese

some patients assume i'm chinese because i'm asian, and start their conversation without asking where i'm from.

"which part of china are you from?"
(do you know china that well to ask me this?)

"you are [tall] for a chinese."

i don't bother correcting them if i can.

this assumption is more evident from a chinese. many of them, mostly old, just walks up to you and start talking in chinese. i guess they do this because they have a very good chance to bump into one another in sydney.
